Bob Christenson, CMI Senior Vice President of Brazos Tax Group, LLP has 27 years experience in property tax. Bob is responsible for management and execution of all real estate appeals, negotiations and ARB hearings in numerous states. He coordinates litigation with attorneys and participates in all appraisal district settlement conferences. Bob is responsible for client reporting and compliance filings.

Bob is responsible for all Dallas County, El Paso, Collin and some Tarrant County in Texas. The states of Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Alabama, Kansas, Florida and some California real estate. The responsibilities in these jurisdictions are for personal and real estate property appeals, negotiations and Appraisal Review Board hearings, as well as all personal property and real estate hearings.

Previously, Bob was President of the Dallas/Fort Worth Office for Property Tax Associates, Inc. He was responsible for all marketing, Freeport Exemption filings, property tax appeals, negotiations, and tax bill transmittal for clients located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, San Antonio and Austin. Client base increased over 100% in three years.

As a Senior Tax Consultant with Real Estate Tax Service, he was responsible for appeals of land, apartments, hotels and personal property for Tarrant County. Traveled nationwide to file appeals and handle specialty appeals (i.e. retirement homes, apartments). Responsible for the service of clients that generated fees in excess of $600,000 annually. Coordinated and performed delinquent tax searches along with providing computerized tax bill transmittals to all clients. In addition, prepared reports and customized tax calendars to clients.

Bob has 27 years experience with over 1600 ARB Hearings. He is member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) where he holds a Senior Certified Member designation. He is also a Senior Property Tax Consultant for the State of Texas.
In 2007, he recieved the coveted CMI designation with the Institute of Professional in Taxation, of which he is a member.

Steve Mills,CMI Founder & President of Brazos Tax Group, LLP has 26 years experience in property tax. His career started out with the Professional Appraisal Company (PAC) conducting field inspections and data collection in many rural counties throughout the state of Texas. In 1982 Steve joined the Tarrant Appraisal District, where he started as a Field Appraiser and later was named Appraisal Analyst in charge of appraising many complex properties and as a land valuation specialist. He represented the Appraisal District in Appraisal Review Board Hearings and litigation support. After six years, Steve left to go into the private sector with a national property tax consulting firm and effectively represented taxpayers and owners of every type of real and personal property. He successfully represented many large clients and accomplished millions of dollars in tax savings during his tenure.

In 1996 after successfully completing his CMI exam, he was asked to become the Tax Director for the Brazos Fund, which he accepted. The Brazos Fund was a $400 million dollar private-equity Fund, which was the predecessor to the current Lone Star Fund, which has completed five funds totaling $25 Billion in assets worldwide. Steve and his staff successfully managed the property tax appeals, compliance, and tax payments on hundreds of REO properties and escrowed loans throughout North America. He and his staff averaged $18 million in tax savings annually from property tax appeals, and maintained the “Master Servicer” rating with all three rating houses Fitch, Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s. In January 2000, Steve started Brazos Tax Group, LLP. He is the guiding force for business development, client satisfaction, along with overall operations of the organization.

Steve holds the distinguished CMI designation with the Institute of Professionals in Taxation (IPT), SCM designation with Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) and the Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) designation with the State of Texas-Board of Tax Professional Examiners. He holds Property Tax Agent Registration with the State of Arizona Board of Appraisal, and also The State of Tennessee Tax Commission. He is also an active member of the National Retail Tenants Association, Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Council, and American Senior Housing Association. In 2007, Steve was appointed to a three year term of the six member Property Tax Consultants Advisory Council of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Danny Walker, Vice President of Compliance with Brazos Tax Group, LLP has 25 years broad based experience working as a property tax consultant and appraiser. Danny is actively involved in all aspects of client tax representation for Brazos Tax Group including compliance and appeal of both real estate and business personal property.

Prior to joining Brazos Tax Group in 2004, Danny worked with a competing firm as a Senior Tax Consultant for 17 years. He was responsible for filing returns and appeals for the company’s clients in Texas and across the North & South East. He handled property tax management for clients with various types of properties including office buildings, regional shopping malls, retail stores, apartments/condominiums, hotels/motels, restaurants, light/heavy manufacturing, and farms/ranches.

Danny began his property tax experience in 1981 when he joined Professional Appraisal Company as an appraiser for properties throughout Texas. After two and one half years he joined Tarrant Appraisal District, also as an appraiser. At Professional Appraisal Company as well as Tarrant Appraisal District he was responsible for appraising commercial, industrial and business personal property.

He is member of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals (TAPTP) where he holds a Senior Certified Member designation. He is also a Licensed Senior Property Tax Consultant in the State of Texas. He is also a member of The Insitute for Professionals in Taxation.
